How To Check Empty RAM Slots On Windows 10

Here is a simple guide about how to check the number of RAM slots and empty slots on your Windows 10 computer. This guide will help you to decide whether you need to buy more RAM or not.

1. Open the Task Manager, you can do that by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys from the keyboard.

2. In Task Manager, click on the More details button to open the full-version.

3. Now, Switch to the Performance tab. Look on the left-side, click on Memory.

4. You will see the details about the RAM, this includes about total slots number of RAM slots on your computer and number of slots currently being used.

If you see the picture above, it has two RAM Slots and both are already occupied. It means the laptop currently doesn’t have space for an additional RAM stick. If you need to increase the RAM, you will have to replace existing RAM sticks with higher ones, for example replace 4 GB sticks with 8 GB to make the total to 16 GB.
